The Women’s Emotional Wellness Center (WEWC) in King of Prussia is proud to offer one of the only known partial hospitalization programs (PHP) exclusively for women across the country. The WEWC PHP has been specially designed for women ages 18 and older whose mental health symptoms require more care than Intensive Outpatient Services, but who do not require the intensity of inpatient psychiatric hospitalization level of care.

What is the WEWC PHP?

Our WEWC PHP skills-building and process-based program has been developed for women, by women and is dialectical behavior therapy, trauma and mindfulness-informed.

Treatment topics include emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, resiliency building, distress tolerance, self-care and more.

“We are excited and honored to offer the PHP level of care to women in our community using a curriculum specially designed with women’s needs in mind,” says Leslie Lipson, LCSW, division director, Women's Emotional Wellness Center.

When is the WEWC PHP?

The WEWC Women’s PHP operates Monday to Friday. The WEWC PHP consists of a multidisciplinary team and care includes: psychiatry, treatment groups, individual therapy and staff nurse.

How long will I participate in the PHP?

The average length of stay at the WEWC PHP depends on each patient’s needs and progress in the program. Generally, however, the length of stay is approximately 10 to 12 treatment days. Often PHP patients step down into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) level of care; the WEWC offers several IOP options at both WEWC Newtown Square and WEWC King of Prussia.

Can anyone join the WEWC PHP?

All prospective patients must participate in an evaluation appointment prior to admission to the program. This screening is designed to help the patient and WEWC staff determine if PHP is the best treatment setting for a particular patient and, if accepted into the program, allows time for the patient to establish treatment goals with a WEWC therapist.

What is the cost of the WEWC PHP?

Care at WEWC is covered by several insurance plans including Medicare; please call for specific insurance information.

If you are a new patient looking to schedule a PHP evaluation, please call Central Intake at 1.888.CARE.898 (227.3898). For more information on the program, visit Women's Emotional Wellness Center as well as our Facebook group.
