Karen double majored in Psychology and Religion at the University of Richmond, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in May 1991. She graduated from Regent University in 1994 with a Master of Arts in Counseling. After working at several outpatient mental health and substance abuse facilities, she started working at Mirmont in 2007 as a substance abuse counselor doing IOP, OP, individual therapy and evaluations. She obtained her LPC in 2008 and her Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional Diplomate certification in 2014. She is the clinical supervisor for the Mirmont Exton SUD program where she oversees the SUD programming, supervising a team of nine clinicians and a case manager, and is the liaison for the Chester County Probation Drug Court and Recovery team. In her personal time, she is a member of Gateway Church and co-facilitates a support group for family and friends with addicted loves ones with Kacie's Cause, Parkesburg Chapter.
