The Lankenau Internal Medicine Residency Program is recruiting for a Chief Resident for the FY24 academic year beginning July 1, 2023. Lankenau Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Residency Program was established in 1946 and has over 75 years of experience training doctors. We are located in the beautiful western suburbs of Philadelphia known as the “Main Line” – a suburban corridor of thriving communities. This area offers wonderful cultural opportunities, top ranked public and private schools, is very close to historic Philadelphia, and is a short driving distance to the beach, the mountains, New York City, and Washington, DC.
Our Chief Resident’s time is divided between teaching, administrative, and clinical duties (on both our inpatient teaching service and our outpatient ambulatory practice). The Chief Medical Resident works with the residency program leadership team to develop innovative curriculum, maintain the schedule for internal medicine residents, assist with resident recruitment, and ensure compliance with ACGME requirements. It is a wonderful opportunity to develop skills as an educator, learn the administrative side of medicine, and have an outstanding year of work-life balance! Our Chief Residents are members of our medical staff and teaching faculty and not PGY-4 residents. Lankenau has outstanding fellowships in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Hematology-Oncology, and a combined Infectious Disease program with Jefferson for those interested in applying during your Chief year.
The ideal candidate must be a board certified or eligible DO or MD in Internal Medicine.
Benefits of joining our team:
- Competitive salary
- Robust benefits package including both 403(b) and pension plan, CME stipend, and paid time off
- Financial security working for a top ranked, financially secure health system
