Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Gold Plus and Gold Receiving Quality Achievement Awards
All four of Main Line Health's acute care hospitals are the recipients of the American Heart Association's (AHA) Mission: Lifeline® STEMI Award. Each hospital independently received these recognitions by implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of high risk emergencies including heart attack, stroke and cardiac arrest to help save lives and improve patient outcomes.
Lankenau Medical Center and Bryn Mawr Hospital received the Mission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center Recognition Gold Plus Award; Paoli Hospital and Riddle Hospital received the Mission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center Recognition Gold Award; and Riddle Hospital's EMS team received the Mission Lifeline STEMI EMS Gold Plus recognition.

Mission: Lifeline® EMS STEMI Gold Plus Award
Riddle Hospital EMS has received the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline® STEMI EMS Gold Plus Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures to treat patients who suffer severe heart attacks. The award recognizes our commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of prehospital care by ensuring that every heart attack (STEMI) patient receives treatment according to nationally accepted recommendations and standards. Optimal care for heart attack patients takes coordination between the individual hospital, EMS and healthcare system.

Get With the Guidelines®—Target: Stroke Gold Plus
All four Main Line Health acute care hospitals have received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes each hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol™ Participant
Lankenau Heart Group has received the American Heart Association's Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol™ Participant status. This award acknowledges the group's commitment to reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke through improved cholesterol management. It also recognizes practices that have committed to improving ASCVD risk assessment and submitted data on appropriate statin therapy.

TARGET: Type 2 Diabetes Gold Award
Lankenau Heart Group has received the American Heart Association's Target: Type 2 Diabetes Gold award for implementing quality improvement measures addressing the relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular disease in outpatient settings. The Gold award recognizes practices that have fulfilled the Participant criteria AND have met the gold level thresholds for each of two selected clinical measures related to diabetes control and CVD risk factors, hypertension and high cholesterol.

TARGET: BP™ Recognition Gold Award
Lankenau Heart Group has received the American Heart Association's Target: Type 2 Diabetes Gold award for implementing quality improvement measures addressing the relationship between diabetes and cardiovascular disease in outpatient settings. The Gold award recognizes practices that have fulfilled the Participant criteria AND have met the gold level thresholds for each of two selected clinical measures related to diabetes control and CVD risk factors, hypertension and high cholesterol. Lankenau Heart Group has been recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Medical Association (AMA) for their commitment to helping improve blood pressure (BP) control rates among the patient populations they serve, earning Gold level recognition as part of the 2021 Target: BP™ Recognition Program. The Gold award recognizes practices that have 70 percent or more of their adult patient population with high BP controlled.

IAC Echocardiography Accreditation
By achieving IAC Echocardiography accreditation for 25 years, Lankenau Medical Center, part of Main Line Health, has received a Silver Milestone Recognition for demonstrating its long-term commitment to continuously improving patient outcomes and safety. Every three-year cycle, accredited facilities undergo an intensive application and review process to re-earn accreditation, with an assessment conducted by a panel of medical experts.
The IAC accreditation process enables both the critical operational and technical components of the applicant facility to be assessed, including representative case studies and their corresponding final reports. Patients, referring physicians and insurers look for the IAC seal of accreditation as the ‘gold standard’ in the field of echocardiography. Facilities that achieve IAC accreditation demonstrate a clear indicator that they provide a high quality level of patient care.

50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals
For the 11th year, Lankenau Medical Center, part of Main Line Health, has been named one of the nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by IBM Watson Health™ (formerly Truven Health Analytics). The study spotlights the top-performing cardiovascular hospitals in the U.S. based on a balanced scorecard of publicly available clinical, operational and patient satisfaction metrics and data.
This study is part of the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® program, which uses independent and objective research to analyze hospital and health system performance in key clinical and operational areas for selected cardiovascular procedures and medical care. The processes used to calculate and measure hospital service lines leverages industry-leading, risk-adjusted methodologies. IBM Watson Health™ processes are widely regarded as the leading program for evaluating leadership impact in a hospital, as well as evaluating quality indicators and efficiencies.
Lankenau continues to deliver significantly higher inpatient survival rates and shorter hospital stays for patients with heart failure or who have experienced a heart attack.

American College of Cardiology's Proven Quality Programs Award
All four of Main Line Health's acute care hospitals have been recognized by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) in the "Best Hospitals" issue of U.S. News & World Report for our dedication and commitment to drive preeminent hospital care of our cardiovascular patients. Through our participation in the ACC’s proven quality programs, we inform our robust quality improvement processes using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to our heart patients. From the ACC, Main Line Health receives information that informs innovative care and allows our practitioners to stay knowledgeable about our patients’ conditions and the care we provide.

Becker’s Hospital Review has named Lankenau Medical Center, part of Main Line Health’s Lankenau Heart Institute, among its list of 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Heart Programs. The award recognizes hospitals leading the nation in cardiovascular care.

Nationally Recognized for Quality in Cardiac Care
Independence Blue Cross has recognized Lankenau Medical Center as a Blue Distinction® Center+ in the Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care program, part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program. Blue Distinction Centers are nationally designated health care facilities shown to deliver improved patient safety and better health outcomes, based on objective measures that were developed with input from the medical community.
Blue Distinction Center+ for Cardiac Care designation recognizes Lankenau Medical Center for demonstrating its expertise in delivering safe and effective cardiac care, focusing on cardiac valve surgery, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) episodes of care. It also recognizes Bryn Mawr Hospital for demonstrating its expertise in delivering safe and effective cardiac care, focusing on percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) episodes of care.

Our facility voluntarily underwent a thorough evaluation by The Joint Commission. The goal of the evaluation? To see if our facility meets The Joint Commission’s rigorous performance standards in delivering quality, safe care. By meeting these standards, our facility received The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval® – an internationally recognized symbol of quality.
Accreditation means that our staff has made an extra effort to review and improve the key areas that can affect the quality and safety of your care. Specially trained health care professionals who are experts in their fields visited this facility to conduct a review that monitors how well our staff: provide a safe environment for your care; educate you about the risks and options for your diagnosis and treatment; protect your rights as a patient; evaluate your condition, before, during and after diagnosis and treatment; protect you against infection; and plan for emergency situations.

AACVPR sponsors a Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Certification process, the only peer-reviewed accreditation process designed to review individual facilities for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by the AACVPR and other professional societies.

Critical-Care Nurses’ Beacon Award
Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been awarded the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence in cardiothoracic intensive care.
