As we continue to expand our services, we are seeking a dedicated Psychiatry Medical Director to lead the Women’s Emotional Wellness Center in King of Prussia.

Position overview

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Psychiatrist to act as Medical Director. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of women's mental health issues, along with the leadership skills necessary to guide a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality care. Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for women, considering the intersectionality of mental health with gender-specific factors
  • Oversee personalized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic approaches to address emotional wellness
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for all psychiatric services within the Women's Emotional Wellness Center
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals, including therapists, nurses, and support staff, to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations, including medication management, for women with a range of mental health concerns
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to clinicians and trainees within the department
  • Participate in teaching medical students during their psychiatric rotation
  • Initiates treatment team meeting and other special meetings with attending physicians when patient care, unit or staff issues arise requiring coordinated input from members of the team
  • Address problems which may arise and appropriately documents his/her response to issues in accordance with MLHC policy
  • Serves as an advisor to psychiatrists within the behavioral health service line and all MLHC physicians
  • Serves as a medical resource for any patient and/or nursing concerns related to psychiatric care
  • Acts on a consistent basis to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of MLHC

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution and board certification in Psychiatry
  • Active medical license in the state of practice, with eligibility for DEA registration
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, with a focus on women's mental health preferred but will consider those with a strong interest in women’s health
  • Prefer previous leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and community partners
  • Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse populations
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
