Lankenau Ventures launches first device developed by healthcare hero
Lankenau Ventures, a joint venture of Early Charm, L2C Partners and Lankenau Institute for Medical Research, part of Main Line Health, officially launched its first invention on April 24.
The device, which props up a weak or injured limb to enable nurses to provide care without a second healthcare worker’s assistance, was the idea of Main Line Health wound care nurse Colleen Rogers.
The Rogers Limb Support is the first of several Main Line Health healthcare-worker-invented products in the Lankenau Ventures pipeline. Additional products in development include a device that provides safety and privacy for patients who need assistance in the restroom during a hospital stay and a device that facilitates easy catheter insertion for female patients.
