Scott Giacomucci, DSW, LCSW, FAAETS
Scott is Director of Trauma Services at Mirmont Treatment Center where he facilitates the inpatient trauma group (Phoenix Group), and Director/Founder of the Phoenix Center for Experiential Trauma Therapy in Media, Pennsylvania. He is author of "Social Work, Sociometry, and Psychodrama," a popular experiential therapy textbook (Springer Nature) with over 100,000 downloads online. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress (FAAETS); Board-Certified Diplomate of Clinical Social Work (BCD); Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP); a Certified EMDR Consultant; Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist; and Board-Certified Trainer, Educator, and Practitioner of Sociometry, Psychodrama, and Group Psychotherapy (TEP). He is an Adjunct Professor and Research Associate at Bryn Mawr College's Graduate School of Social Work while also teaching as an Adjunct at Villanova University's graduate counseling program. He regularly presents local training events and at national and international events. Scott serves on the board of the International Society of Experiential Professionals (ISEP) and the Executive Council of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP), while also chairing the ASGPP Research Committee. He has published multiple articles about the application of experiential therapy with addiction and trauma including an ongoing line of research on the effectiveness of trauma-focused psychodrama. He co-edited the autobiography of the founder of psychodrama, serves as co-editor of the first international book series on psychodrama (Springer Nature), and is co-chief-editor of the Journal of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy.
